Curriculum Learning Specialist
The role of the VET Learning Specialist is to support the planning, delivery and assessment methods of internal VET programs for students within the Senior and Middle School. In addition, the VET Learning Specialist liaises with RTO (registered training organisations) as well as the other Learning Specialists and Curriculum team to ensure the school’s pedagogy underpins all programs.
With the focus on teaching and learning programs for students undertaking a Certificate I or II, the primary focus is implementing internal VET courses into our programs with a specific focus on preparing students with skills for post-school.
The VET Learning Specialist provides support for internal VET trainers, ranging from day-to-day organisation of students through to developing comprehensive planning documentation, implementing high impact teaching strategies, modelling and mentoring, assessment and data and how these are best used to drive planning and instruction to improve our student learning outcomes.
Applied Learning – Learning Specialist
The role of the Applied Learning - Learning Specialist is to support the learning and development of colleagues within the Senior School Campus. In addition, the Applied Learning - Learning Specialist liaises with the other Learning Specialists and Curriculum Team to ensure the school’s pedagogical model is driving the teaching and learning programs in the respective curriculum areas.
With the focus on teaching and learning programs for students undertaking VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate) and VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses, the primary focus is based on an applied learning approach. This is, ensuring students engage in authentic and motivating learning experiences, empowering students to support them and their carers to make informed decisions for post-school.
The Learning Specialist supports teachers in developing planning documentation, implementing high-impact teaching strategies, modelling and mentoring, assessment and data, and how these are best used to drive planning and instruction to improve our student learning outcomes.
Wellbeing and Engagement Learning Specialist
Our Wellbeing and Engagement Learning Specialist has extensive experience working with children and young people in Specialist educational settings.
Their role is to support teachers, education support staff and parents around issues relating to the educational and support needs of students with regards to the Personal and Social Capabilities curriculum and student engagement.
This is achieved through the introduction and coordination of school wide curriculum programs such as; School Wide Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS), Respectful Relationships, Zones of Regulation, Equine Connected Learning and Flexible Learning Options (FLO)
